Carezze emerges from the need to merge bodily movement with painterly practice, transforming gesture into mark and dance into painting. It is conceived as an exercise in synthesis between movement and matter, body and space, where the canvas becomes a stage upon which the dance leaves its trace. Through this work, the aim is to capture the essence of improvised, danced gesture, turning painting into a visual memory of movement. The canvas thus preserves the physical traces of an ephemeral act, rendering visible what is usually only perceived in the moment.

Painting with the body implies a deeper, more physical connection to the creative process. This technique requires both precise bodily control and a high degree of gestural freedom, where every movement—from the feet to the torso—contributes to the formation of the mark. Each step, turn, and impulse generates a trace on the canvas, transforming painterly practice into a choreographic experience. The work thereby becomes a reflection of the creator’s own inner transformation, acting as a mirror that returns the lived gesture.
